[Dusty Bottoms]

Didn't crash, been riding them for about 4 months with no problems. The shifter works fine, the indicator won't move from "9". I have never disassembled a sram shifter, is it easy?


Thoughts? Ideas? Tips? Answers?

There is a plastic film that is the gear indicator. When you disassemble the shifter, you will see how it works. You may want to take apart the right handshifter first so you can see how the indictor attaches to the shift mechanism.

It's not difficult to open up and repair.

The first time I disassembled it the spring inside popped out. Didn't take me long to figure out how to reseated the spring but it was still an annoyance.
Open it slowly and peak inside to see how the spring is seated.

Almost the same issue with mine. One day my indicator would only go from 4-9, even when I shift through the whole 9 speeds. Each shift would only move the indicator about 1/2 way. Then, next day, it disappeared! Now I have no indicator. I'll get to it some day and take it apart.
