Anyone else suffered from too short a L limit screw on the X9 front derailleur?

I've just been adjusting mine (a low mount cage version) and I have found that the L limit screw simply isn't long enough to position the cage where I need it ideally. It is quite a way out from where it really should be.

Looks like I'll have to find a new screw. But I find it odd that this should be the case. I didn't have an issue with the previous mech on the bike.

You should probably check your chain line. The X.9 FD is set up so that the middle ring should be 47.5-51mm from the centerline of the bike. If the measurement is greater on your bike can you re-arrange spacers behind the bottom bracket cups?
