X9 crank with Shimano Dynasis drivetrain?

I just bought a Giant Anthem 29er X3 which has a crappy crank. The rear and front derailleurs are SLX and the cassette is a 10 speed Shimano Cassette.

Question: Can I swap out the crank and BB for the X9 crank without changing anything except the high/low adjustment on the front derailleur and be okay? I want to go 2x10 but the trails I ride on are pretty brutal on cranks and I don't want to trash an XTR crank. The X9 crank seems to be a really good value.

It will work fine. Just make sure when you order your double crank that you get one that won't rub the chainstays as your big ring is basically in the place of the old middle ring.
