X2 makes this sound on compression, is this normal?

Ignore the rattle that's my cables. I Bought the fox x2 brand new from an eBay seller it's a 2021. Had it for a week, posted this video to my local fb group they all said it's normal despite my friends x2 being dead silent. Has happened since I unboxed it and rode on it anyway.

any ideas what it is? It's bloody annoying

Sounds more like a "puppy" than a "Fox".......
ride it some more and see if it settles

my shock will do that for a bit after I've dumped all the air and repumped it
but it goes away in a ride or two
What part of Australia are you in? I mean this 100% genuinely as politely as possible, if there is a suspension shop near you I would recommend paying them a visit and get them to go over your set up for you. Or maybe try a google search first as some of these questions are a bit too broad to be answered well over the internet and will possibly add to the confusion
All I can tell you is I have a 2019 (I think) X2 and it has never made a sound. Does this mean yours is abnormal? IDK. It would really bug me though.

If mine is like that, every dog in the 'hood will be highly interested as I ride by.
Seen a few people with a 2021 x2 having the same noise so maybe it’s something in the frame design
My dpx2 makes the exact same sound. I've been told it's normal and it doesn't affect performance. My dpx2 is only a month old.

Undies squeaking on seat for sure. Change brand of jocks, that'll sort it.
Did you cycle the shock a few times while airing it up?

Something like remove air pressure from the shock, add 25 psi, slowly cycle a couple of times, another 25 psi, cycle the shock a few times, etc.

my previous dps did the same noise. I wonder if it has something to do with the frame linkage or something

Pretty sure if he removed the shock from the bike and was able to cycle it it would make the same sound.

Cavitation? Air where there shouldn't be?

It might be fairly common, I'm not convinced it's normal or by design.

OP, have you sent the link to that short video to Fox customer service to ask their opinion?
