I have the oppurtunity to purchase a KCNC Ti Pro Lite Seatpost. Problem is that my frame is made for a 26.8 seatpost, and the KCNC seatpost is 27.2. I am wondering if I could have someone with metalworking skills machine the KCNC post down to the proper 26.8 size? Would it be safe? Durable? If you feel that machining the post is unrealistic then please suggest a light (< 200 grams) seatpost.

The walls of the KCNC are pretty thin on the 31.6 version I have...don't know if there would be much meat left.

In thoery it could be done with a lathe but I do not recomend it. Removing material will weaken the post and could lead to a falure.

Those posts are so thin too, you wouldn't want to try it. Just get a Thomson and be done. You can tune the Thomson head if you want too.
