I agree, thanks for the inspiration!!
Whew!

Sure is a great feeling isn't it!! :D :D :D :D
Isn't this the last year......

of fall back?? I thought I heard that somewhere and a couple of friends of mine said the same thing...so next fall/winter, it will be really dark in the mornings but still light in the evenings...if it's true...
If we do away with daylight savings time, the opposite would be true. More light in the morning, less at night.
yer joking right?

I grew up in MI just north of the Indiana border. We changed times; they didn't. Definitely thought we had the better end of the deal. In CA now and the added daylight in the evenings is a huge plus where I think it would just be wasted for more light in the AM.

Is this being talked about? Sorry. I guess I am out of the loop.
In honor of the shortest day of the year, a bunch of us are getting together and doing the longest night ride of the year.

Hope everybody's got a full charge on their batteries :D

Just pulled up this off google. Says we are actually moving daylight savings time from the first Sunday in April to the first Sunday in March so we will get more of it. Don't know if it is true or not.

yeeehaw. Spring is just around the corner. Gotta start riding after work so I can be ready. :D Sea Otter Classic is nearing also. Fun Fun fun. Dang I gotta start planning my trips. Thanks for the heads up. :D
And I get a set of studded tires tomorrow so I can break away from the trainer from time to time over the next 4 months!

=P
Ok, so I'm not the only one...

I have been watching the calendar, waiting for the turn toward more lovely daylight...
Couldnt happen sooner..

I really dont like riding in the dark here..its is real scary. Its looks like the real gain in daylight comes at the end of January according to he sunrise/sunset tables. ive read..

nope, as someone else said they are going to push the start of DST a month or two later so we will have a few extra months of longer days. or at least longer light at the end of the day......either way, when i commute i will be doing part of it in the dark. *sigh*

nope! i watch the calendar from the day the time changes and count down the days till winter solstice. it may still be cold for a while (only another 6-8 weeks here in the south) but at least i know the days are getting longer again.

i'll never figure out though, how when i lived in the great white north, it really seemed like the days were shortest in Feb not Dec. i swear the sun set at noon in Feb up north!

rt - happy to be living in the south these days.
you stud!

Happy day

It is the only holiday that brings me joy. Too many close calls in the dark to remember. The ride home takes a lot longer when you have to give everybody a big "benefit of the doubt" buffer zone. I almost got popped in the rain last Friday by someone turning left in front of me.
Although nothing gets my adrenalin going like a close call.....

It's true, but doesn't go into effect for a while.
