Got here yesterday, but I didn't have hardly any time to ride it because of work, felt good, but I couldn't really go to any good trails.

Today I hit up a good trail by my house called Flightline at 8 and.......all I can say is WOW.
I rode for about an hour pretty easy, stopping and dialing things in and seeing what felt best, then I kinda let it hang out a bit, and wow, what a bike!!! I know what people mean by telepathic now. It it so responsive to where my body was, at the amazing thing was that it was that way out of the saddle going up as well as going down. There were 2-3 times where I thought without a doubt I was going down, but nope it just kept on trucking on my poorly chosen line :) Only downside was that at the end of the day I pushed it a bit too hard and laid it down on some loose gravel on top of rocks; you've never seen someone so mad to take a relatively small spill haha, but everything was fine, not scratched up too bad.

I am one happy biker!

Sorry to hear about the wait guys, but it will be worth it once it gets there. Everytime I go through some single track I get a huge smile on my face, it almost keeps getting better and better. I rode for so long yesterday I gave myself a mild case of heat exhaustion, not very fun in the end, but you just won't want to stop riding.

well i just called the shop and got an update..........:( he says another 3 weeks, i don't believe this **** i told him to cancel the order. he then tried to sell me two other frames neither of which i wanted not the right color/size/shock option TOTAL BS i told him i know what i want and i will not spend my cash on something i don't want. he knocked off another few bucks and i told him i'll give it 3 more weeks and then no amount for discount will keep me from canceling the order. a 4 week estimated delivery time will then be 9-10 weeks. he gave me the excuse that the rear ends were not in and that it takes longer for a anodized frame as opposed to a polished/painted frame. this is a frame off the rack and not a custom ti frame. i getting tired of this wait

welcome to the world of custom frames and small builders.

The HH100x is not an off the shelf frame - it is custom. Titus will fill all the backlog of directly ordered RX100's first(and there are a lot) before they will make the HH's for Charles. It is true that they have had a shortage of rear triangles - this has also held up the RX100's. I waited a long time for my Steelman cyclocross frame - and it was a standard size / not custom. Just the nature of boutique bikes. Take solace in the fact that you're not going to be on some mega factory bike. If you wanted something instant you could have got a Trek or a Giant or even a Blur. Good things come to those who wait. I know I've waited and now I'm waiting again. I ordered mine May 1st and when he told me the estimated date the frame would be ready, I knew it would be longer. He said "hopefully - July", and I said but probably August, and he said "I wouldn't be surprised". Charles is not trying to dupe you - it's just the nature of the product - he can't get the frames till Titus makes them for him.

If you know what you want, you really should wait for what you ordered..... you know, if that's what you want, which I assume it is because you know what you want and that's what you ordered. Make sense?

All kidding aside... Be patient my friend. The wait is worth it. I ordered mine with the second ever batch of Hammerheads on Jan 2, '02 and received it March 30.... 12 weeks.

Ditto, same batch. My Switchblade before that was the same way, 3 weeks turned in to 10. If you're going to blame someone, blame Titus. While they do very nice work, their production planning process is truely pathetic. In the end, it's truely worth the wait. Good luck.

actually its not a HH100X i'm waiting for a titus X100...but what ever. i don't concider this a custom (although it is boutique) bike it is a standard 17" frame nothing special it's not the custom Ti version just a 17"racerX100 in ano black. i'm just a little tired of the excuses and continued delays. whenever a estimated time comes i get a new excuse with a new estimate

I empathize with your situation. It's prime riding season. You're waiting for a frame and the date keeps getting pushed back. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone, it's not an isolated incident and make sure you weren't blaming the dealer. It is worth the wait though.

The only other option is to call every stocking Titus dealer to see if they have what you want...

Dude

I have owned several frames from small builders and I have NEVER received a bike in less than 8 weeks, no matter what I've been told.
Check every other bike makers board (Turner, Yeti etc.) Everyone is on at least a 10 week wait on the most popular frames. You are wrong about insisting this is Not a "custom" order, It is. Anything you order from any of the affore mentioned companies is hand built. I've been to the Titus "factory" and One person will weld your frame from beginning to end. If that's not "custom" I don't know what is. Sure it's not to the level of you choosing a specific geometry in Ti but it is still custom in my book and well worth the wait.

And another thing, going on this board and bashing someone who I know damn well is the straightest shooter out there is crap.

SDTRAILBLAZER:

I think I am going to have to call you on this one:
We have only took orders for 2 Racerx 100s
one is arriving at the shop tomorrow, a med blue for a local customer
the other was ordered about 2 weeks ago from a local customer as well

Unless I have just completely spaced this one, you are just trying to start ****

if I am wrong, please contact me immediately

Charles i never said i ordered it from YOU........ so no i'm not starting S**T. and no i'm not spaced.. your not the only dealer that sells titus. SXSW it's not custom it is not made to my specific measurements it is a standard 17" titus racer x 100 with the same geometry that all X100's have and what they have on they're website. you should think about the word CUSTOM. i mean it's great that one person welds the frame but if he has preset measurments to cut and preset angles to form it is no way custom. although it's a very nice NON custom bike.....AND ANOTHER THING who am i bashing? did i say i ordered from HH? NO. did i mention the shop i ordered from? NO. get your facts straight bud, you need to read this thread SLOWLY and maybe you can understand whats going on  that goes for you and charles

You need to read your own post. You defintely lead everyone...

You need to read your own post. You defintely lead everyone on because both prior posts only referred to the HH100x which can only be purchased from Charles of the eponymously named "Hammerhead Bikes". Your second post does nothing to differentiate Charles from your now exposed "other bike shop person". You only refer to "He". And if you carefully read the posts, the last "he" to be mentioned and the only "he" to be mentioned was "Charles". Your third post also does nothing to clarify the situation. All that you bring to light is that it is not a HH100x that you ordered but instead a Titus RX100. Still nothing to change the fact that you are inferring that you are writing about "Charles" and "Hammerhead Bikes". You never mention that it is another shop. To sum this up, "YOU" are the one that needs to read this thread slowly and you need to get your facts straight. Did you mention the shop you ordered from? NO. Did you reply to a thread that was entitled "WOOHOO! HH 100X got here!" with "AAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH where's mine". YES!

I don't know "Charles" at all except for a couple of emails and phone conversations, but I know that your pedantic diatribe has done nothing except waste everyone's time. You owe Charles a big apology. If you cannot see that it is you that hasn't the reading comprehension and not Charles, I don't know what to tell you. Except to stop posting till you really know what you are posting. Go Ride instead of wasting our time.

I have to agree with the others on this one...

Original post by Fantom1 stated
"WOOHOO! HH 100X got here!"

your post (SDtrailblazer)
"AAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH where's mine.........i ordered mine over 5 weeks ago ( 6 weeks on wed ) and still have no frame it's getting hard pedaling on the road"

Since the original post was referencing a HH100 and you asked where is yours. Simple reading means you wee referencing a HH100, not a RX100 as you later let everyone in on.
And since a HH100 can only be ordered thru Hammerhead bikes.......your statements were taken to be directed at Charles and his shop.

Re read you post, admit to you oversight and mistake, apologize and everyone can be on with life.

DUDE, you must chill

I had a long wait back in '02 as well. Yes it's frustrating, but you can't blame the dealer. I suppose Titus could send production to Taiwan and you'd get the bike fast. These are exclusive bikes, hand built by one of the premier bike manufacturers in the world.
