Im working on a website site, dedicated to the more extreme types of biking (Freeride, Downhill, DJ, Urban). Im going to include articles on trailbuilding. Ill post when it is done.

Look at WORCA and see if they have something for ya...

In addition to the new IMBA manual.....

The kind folks up in Whistler, B.C. have a pretty amazing biking organization in town - the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association - and they also have a trail maintenance guide that you may be able to get from them. They talk about things such as the use of rock in areas that get wet and require more drainage, side slope necessary for a trail, etc. They also have a great instructions for creating ladder bridges that will last and won't become a safety hazard by using cedar, keeping the spacing about 4-6 inches apart, etc.

If you've ever ridden any of their trails, you know these folks can build a ladder or two.
