Hey, Newb here....Looking for women's MTB clubs in Toronto GTA area - southern Ontario. I'm a beginner so looking for other beginner gals to ride with or intermmediates who don't mind taking it easy and teaching me a few things. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for the info :)

Thanks Steel. :) I've already checked them out. Michelle emailed me and someone in TO should be getting back to me with some info which I'm anxiously and excitedly waiting for. I thought I'd ask around in the meantime to see if there were any other women's clubs in case I missed one during my search. I checked out your site too but it appears your riders seem to be a little more advanced than me as I am just a beginner. Plus I think riding with the gals might make me feel a litle more comfortable and less intimidated at first. Do you guys ride mostly in the Barrie area or do you have members from all over? If you have any girls in your group who don't mind a beginner tag-a-long let me know.

Hey W.
We only ride Barrie occasionally; most of our rides are around Toronto. Places like Kelso, Albion Hills, Dagmar, Durham Forest, Ravenshoe, etc.
You are right, we are mostly intermediate to advanced level riders (not necessarily fast though ;) ). There are some novice and a begnner or two, but they only show up infrequently so the Fly Gurlz are a better way for you to go right now.
When you feel up to it, join us for a ride; we cycle all year round.
I know a girl or two who might want a riding partner so I'll ask around.

Also, I hear some good things about the Caledon Hills Cycling Club.

I have spent allot of time looking at this and tried to find a group to ride with. I am at a double loss as I am also only 12. So Not only is it hard looking for femael riders try looking for 12 year old female riders.

You can also check out the SunFlower Squad that ride out of St Catherines. They are women only and they offer the Sunflower Seeds which is the kids program for girls. I think they offer 4 levels is total. beginner, advanced and racer and then the seeds

here is a link for you.

Hi Pink!! Thanks for the link : ) Well I'm over 25 so it shouldn't be as difficult for me as it would be for you to find a goup of people around my age. Ahh 12 - I remember how much it sucked being 12. Don't worry it'll get better until you hit 25 and then time seems to fly by. Anyway, St. Catherines is a little too far for me. I just found out that the Fly Gurl in charge of the Toronto chapter is away so it explains why I haven't heard back. Hopefully I'll hear something soon, or maybe another adult female in Toronto will post for a riding buddy.
Happy trails....W

A little lost in TO

I'm also new to the Toronto area and looking for people to ride with. I haven't had a chance to hit many Toronto trails yet, and miss the ones back in Oakville. I'm thinking of joining the team at work, but I'm not sure I want to enter into that elitest group. I've checked out the information on the sunflowers, and it looks intesting, but a little too far to travel.
Let me know what you find. Thanks.
