Random ramblings....

* Can't decide between Hulls and Military Reserve for tonight. I'm on the SS, so I don't want to do anything steep. I'm leaning towards Military Reserve.

* Still hunting for a cyclocross bike.

* I hope I can win some $$$ in Vega$ in a couple of weeks to buy a Tuner Five Spot if there are any available.

Neither

I think Al Jolson in Big Boy is more like it. If Mr. Wobble not would just break into song about his good old Mammy all would be good.

Is it just me or is all of Boise cranky right now. A few days of rain and a waining moon has horns honking and the finger flying. The good news is the sun is out and Corn Hole Hill on Hard Guy is just waiting to put everyone in a better mood.

That's my rant!

Dude...

Nick, let's go for a SS ride tomorrow... the trails are in awesome condition... We just got back from a 1.5 hour SS ride...
BTW- Tell Jenny Hennessy I said Hello... Her and I go way back (she is one of the first people I rode with when I first moved here)...

No can do flip...hitting the gym for a bit before I head to the store.

I got in a really ****ing awesome SS ride tonight! Pretty easy stuff (all of Military Reserve). 10.26 miles. Awesome trail conditions. Awesome evening. Just phenomenal. Had to push up the bike several times, but not as much as I thought. 32x18 for me is good.

I think everyone knows her. I first met her when she was still at Boise HS and she started climbing at my Downtown Y wall. I think this was before she got into MTB'ing!!!

I saw yesterday's bike vs truck

Just heard the traffic report on KTIK 1350 AM and a bike versus car accident just occurred. She also mentioned that there were two similar accidents yesterday too.
accident just after it happened on Fairview by Winco. I was royally P.O.d and concerned all at the same time. Saw a crunched bike under this big Dodge compensator truck. made me sick.

Beware, Fairview at 5pm is no time and place to be on a bike....

Do you know these folks?.....

On last week's hike I saw someone come down 8th Street on a gold or silver colored Sycip SS. It looked to maybe be full rigid as well as a 29'er.

Several nights ago when I was peddaling through Fort Boise, I saw a green Honda Element with plates that said "Bike Box" or sumpin' like that.

On the same ride I saw someone on a white On One SS. That guy was riding down Bucks and then as I was riding up Bucks he passed me on his way up. Saw him go up Shane's.

Here in downtown in front of the Escalators that head up to Piper Pub, I always see a green Surly Karate Monkey. I think I may have seen the same bike go down Red Fox several weeks ago.

If it was.....

I was the one off to the side of Bucks that said to you something along the lines of "You make SS'ing look easy!".

Did fine with 32x18 for most of the Reserve. Only had to push the bike a couple of times to get to Central Ridge via the Military Reserve Trail and I did take a good number of breaks. Going with a 20 in the back probably woulda made it easier, but it drives me nuts to be spinning like crazy going downhill.

That was me on the white On-One Inbred with two dogs. If I would have paying attention that you were on a SS, I would have stop to chat. Since I have only been riding a SS since December I decided to be patient with myself and went from a 32X18 to a 32X20 and it has made things much more enjoyable. The smaller gear has forced me to re-learn high rpm spinning. Or just sit back and enjoy the Chris King buzz. As the new SS muscles are developing I am tempted to try a 19 tooth.

I will keep my eye out for you on the trail but if I miss you make sure and stop me. I have red hair and wear a gold helmet. I will be on a white Inbred, gold or silver Titus.

Hope everyone has a great weekend riding. The traction should be fantasic.

That was my Element you saw Tuesday night. From the Ft. Boise parkign lot, my buddy Sean and I rode up the reserve and back down, up the connector, up the freeway, up sidewinder, up Devil's Slide, down 6/5, up the dirt road, up 26A to Shane's, down Shane's, down Bucktail, down Central ridge, and then down into the end of the Black Forest. Fantastic loop. I thought I saw you climbing the beginning of Bucktail right as I got to the end. I stopped and yelled your name, but you were chugging along.

Did any of you see a black nissan titan in the Fort Boise parking lot this Tuesday... That's mine!

I did something similar... but shorter... Up Military, Up the "middle hill", along the ridge to bucks, up bucks, counter-clockwise on shanes, down shanes, down bucks, thru the black forest to the parking lot... I wished I would have came down central ridge... Down bucks is kinda boring. :)

If that guy you were yelling at on bucks had on a blue jacket.. it might have been me!
