Wiper Seal Service on Vanilla Forx?

My 2002 Vanilla 125 seems to be leaking a bit of fluid on the left fork leg. I have bought new wiper seals and will replace them if needed but I wonder if I can simply do the seal & oil ring service described in the manual to help with this?

After each ride there is a residue of dirt/ oil on the left leg but no such residue on the right. Any suggestions?

I had the same problems

I tried to service the wipers, but it wasn't doing much. So, I replaced those seals with Enduro ones and the problems went away.
