Now that's what I'm talkin' about: actual races in the Bay Area. Who'd of thunk it? I REALLY hope to do this series. Will start training... tomorrow, of course. :D

I hope to see some of my mtbr friends getting into this.
We created a great series this is just our Winter Series, we will take some time off so everyone can do the big events in April, May. Our second 5 race series will start in June after everyone including us have done the big races Sea Otter and the like. Please spread the word! We appreciate your support, hope to see you January 30 at Santa Teresa!
SB Racing.org!
Cool, this would be fun! I might try to get in on the Santa Teresa race, not that I'd be competitive, but looks like it would be fun. Does anyone know what the course layout is likely to be?
Single speeds welcome? Might have to get in on this...

Chris
What is the ST course going to be?
Rocky ridge would be a good loop, but they like to close it during the winter.
We are trying to keep the course fun without too much major climbing. It is the first race of the series and we have to easy into it! There is always some climbing.

Single speed are welcome!

Below is the current Santa Teresa course, it is subject to change up to the start of the race! It will be a lap course. Number of laps depend on class.

Start: Pueblo group picinic area, Mine Trail
Right Hidden Springs Trail
Right Coyote Peak Trail
Right Rocky Ridge Trail
Left Mine Trail
Right Fortini Trail
Right Stile Ranch Trail
Left Mine Trail
Right Pueblo Tail

Thanks for your interest it will be a great race!

Just wondering why the course goes up Stile ranch vs. down it and then return to the pinic area via Fortini.

Seems like there will be too much traffic going up stile (single track) to pass where as if it decend Stile, there is a good stretch of Fontini fireroad to do some final sprinting work.
Great to see a Bay Area(ish) race series. Three of the dates conflict with other events I want to do, but hopefully I'll make Harvey Bear.
By the time you get to Stile it will be thinning out. There's still plenty of room to go around someone even at stiles. Also, this is a multi lap race. I would be surprised if people are still grouped together by the 2nd lap.
I am planning to be in for SJC and Salinas. Sounds like fun!
It will be a great series! Thanks for your support! We'll see you at the races!
Sounds like fun and a lot closer by than the CCCX series.
Count me in: sport 50+.
I just bought my first USA cycling license. Now I'm committed to racing a lot next year.

I tried to register on-line, but could only register for the one-day race. Could the active.com site be updated to allow for the 5 race series registration as well?

Just out of curiosity, is SB Racing not (or no longer) affiliated with South Valley Endurance? The reason I ask is because sbracing.org states that it was f.k.a Silicon Valley Bike and Run Club, and svbikeandrunclub.com now redirects to svendurance.com, which seem to be hosting another MTB XC racing series.
We are adding a single speed classes, sorry for the oversight!
No SB Racing is not affilitated with South Valley Endurance. South Valley Bike & Run club is now SB Racing.org.
Hope to see you January 30, 2010 at round 1.
So this is different series than the SV Endurance "Dirty Gears" Series?

Thanks for the clarification :)
