Sitting at work looking out the window at sunny skies and 80 degree days became to much to take. I decided I needed a "mental health" day so off to South Mountain I went. 4 hours later I'm back, tired and smiling.

Here're the goods, not that everyone hasn't already seen shoths of National before.

The bike is ready to roll
The National Trail
Where it all starts
Today is a pollution advisory day - no $%#@
Ok I skipped the start on National opting for the easier climb up Mormon

It's been a rough fall alrighty. Temps are freakishly cold hear in Vegas as well. I think it was hovering around 62 degrees during our lunch time ride. ;)

Same in Tucson. I was only "warm" while riding in my t-shirt and shorts this afternoon. Brrr.

Wheres the Rain?

I dont remember Arizona looking like that at all last January, Feb, or March. I remember going over to the White Tank Whirlwind and it was raining. Then a couple of weeks later went to the 24 hour race and it was raining there also. Also one year I went down there on April 1 and it snowed and it was very cold for the week leading up to the snow-no joke. I guess you get the good weather when I am not there. :)

Loved the pictures. Especially the shots of the South Mountain Area. My brother lives in Paradise Valley and I was fortunate enough to explore that area for an entire day (coincedentally enough, on Thanksgiving Day) about 4 years ago. I was amazed at how few people I ran into, once I got beyond the immediate trailhead area. But, despite being surrounded by sprawling suburbia, I managed to get myself lost - turned into quite an adventure ride.
Thank God for cell phones!
