Lake Simcoe Conservation will once again be having some logging performed in Durham Forest this winter. It will occur between late January and mid-March. The area is pretty close to the main parking lot and does have some single track in the working area. Working with the LSRCA we'll do our best to minimize the impact to the trails in that area. If any trails are impacted, for whatever reason, we'll arrange a build in the early spring to do some repair and restoration.

Hmm, bummer... hopefully we can get some sweet log-overs out of it. It was certainly bad timing with the logging in Dufferin forest and the WoW race. At least this is occurring in the really off-season.

I am actually glad it's happening near the main parking lot. This way the majority of visitors to Durham forest will see the impact that logging has in that area. It also looks like it doesn't affect too many trails and that's a good thing.
