Monte and I did the classic OAB from Windy Ridge across the Plains of Abe to Ape Canyon TH and back Sunday.

This might possibly be the best out and back ride on the planet.

22 mi. / 3415' climbing

Climbing up Windy Ridge onto the Plains..

Plains of Abraham

Ape Canyon

Back down Windy Ridge. Greatness! And Ludicrous Speed too!

Yes, a definate classic.

Ha! I have the exact same shot in the gorge heading the other way from 1999 when Gonzz took the picture on the way down. The rocks along the edge were not there then. (Need to figure out how to shrink the file so it will fit here...) Sure has greened up in the past few years too.
