Will SLX double crank work with existing drivetrain?

I have a GT Force 3.0 with Deore components. With the kind of riding I do I never use the large chain ring. I'm considering going to the SLX double cranks (22/36). Is it compatible with my existing drivetrain other than adjusting the front derailleur?

It will work fine provided the rest of the drivetrain isn't excessively worn. SLX does make a double specific derailleur for the front the M665. It is on my list of things to buy when I have extra money :D I have run 2x9 gearing since 2005 and never had any drivetrain issues.
