Will Shimano Deore RD-M592 work with 8 speed cassette?

I need to replace an old Shimano RD-M410 derailleur and would like to upgrade to Deore. Would a Shimano Deore RD-M592 SGS rear derailleur work? The bike currently has 8 speed shifters and a SRAM PG-830 8 speed cassette. I also have a new CS-HG50 8 speed cassette I could use. I have seen the RD-M592 on bikes like the 2010 Felt Q620 and the 2010 GT Avalanche 2.0 so I assume it can be done.

Any help would be appreciated.
