I have a 2.35 maxis FOREKASTER tubeless as my rear tyre but need to put a tube in until i buy some cushcore. can i put a 2.50-3.00 maxis tube in a 2.35 maxis FOREKASTER tyre and will it work or fail on me??? because this tube in the only one i have got.

thanks, :)
Stuff it in there and carefully close the tire on the rim, making sure the tub is not caught between the bead and rim. Air it up slowly while observing for issues. Should work with careful installation.

You absolutely can, but you shouldn't. I've ran a 29" in a 26" before to get home (folding it over on itself), and that's what the mullet guys do so they only have to carry one tube. The issue with running too large a tube (and a 2.5" tube in a 2.2" tire is too large as well) would be bunching of the rubber under the tire. I have no data, but would think this would lead to easier pinch flats.

If the tube becomes caught between the rim and bead of the tire, you'll notice increasing tire squirm and be riding rim very very soon.
Grossly undersized tubes are very susceptible to pinching, where a tube that does not need to double in size to fill the rim/tire space is actually far more durable since it is not under stress.

We do odd things with tubes when we aren't properly prepared! (I do, anyway)
