Will mavic 217, 517 rims convert fine to tubeless?

I went to a shop asking to convert my wheels to tubeless. Either them doing the job or selling me whatever ncessary. I was told mavic rims were too tall(???) for the deal and i should look for Alex rims.
Based on pics Alex rims profile is close in shapes at last to Mavic.
I am completely ignorant of tubeless tech and parameters but i am not convinced.

Stan's makes a rim strip specifically for this purpose. It is a rubber strip that you install over the rim tape on the inside of your rim. The tire bead and rubber strip overlap creating a sealed volume for the sealant and air. I use it with 517 rims and it works great. Just Google 26in Stan's rim conversion and make sure you get the correct width.

Fine may be pushing it. Youll have mixed results. When i converted my older 26” rims, i built up a few layers of gorilla tape to get the beads more snug. Also those rims are pretty skinny so you may run into burping issues.

What would be the ideal "rim brake" rim for the task? Stan´s 26in rim seem to be unobtainable.
At one point Stan's made a Rhyno lite specific rim strip. Rhyno Xl rims are welded and have almost no dip in the center. Never tried it myself, but sounds good in theory.

If you can find them, the painted 355's without the machined sidewall work fine. They'll squeal like heck at first but I think even stans said there were made for it, just painted over. They'll be way easier to find than the machined ones.

Otherwise tubeless rim brake rims are getting nearly impossible to find. My experience with 517's and similar has been very poor but there's people that make it work.
Back in the day I made it work just fine with 517's with Gorilla tape. My issues came from the tires. Now tire tech is way better so you may have an easier go of it. I'm sure there are some old "Gorilla ghetto tubeless" videos still lurking about on Youtube.
Personally, I've had good luck for many years doing OG Mavic rims, split tube. Cheaper than the Stans kit, and likely more effective as it actually wraps the bead in butyl rubber, WHILE it's tightening up the bead socket dimensions, so you get great sealing instead of meh, sealing.
I will try it monday w/ continental tape and see what happens.
