Love my Outcast, and the newer bikes look great. One thing I noticed though, specifically with the 29" SS bikes is 23.6" wide bars on the Motos. Why not spec them a little wider in the future, like 27"?

Wider bars can always be cut down, but if a rider buys one of your bikes and prefers wider bars, they're stuck having to upgrade.

23.6" on a 21" framed SS is just silly.

I understand that part of saving money is buying in bulk, so if you've got a warehouse full of 23.6" wide bars, so be it. It's easy enough to find a set of used bars and a stem for cheap.

I second the suggestion for wider bars. My original 580mm bar that came on my Fantom Ti is now a garage ornament. Swapping it out with a 660mm bar was the first thing I did. So much better.

First thing I did was toss the stock Outcast bars and stem, I put a Azonic Strip bar and FSA 130mm stem (6'5" 265) the same set up as my Dos Niner.

I would have to agree with the OP,

I know run bars that are almost 30" with the Cat Eye Bar Bones, and the difference it made in control and climbing are well invited.

Plus the wider bar gives it a meaner look.

Agree...Got my Fantom 29er PRO SL in November. Replaced the bar with an Easton EA70 wide-flat bar. Looks better and the sweep is more comfortable for me.
