WI. Blue Mounds Down hill race. July 8th.(IT IS STILL ON)

well its still a go. I will now be runing it. after it being handed to me, I will try to do my best to make this race go acording to plan. pre runs start at 8am and i guess the race will start at 12. open racers will go 1st and so on and so on. there may or may not be a roll in ramp, if i can get a hand building it there will be. and im having some other probs...... but all is well.

i could maybe come.....i will be a few hours away but i could possibly make it. what part of WI are we talking here? i will look at the directions you gave. could it be done on an

yeah I can't make it(work stuff)...but just so ya know, most people in Minnesota are attending a race called The Dig, a 4X race in Osecola(sp?) which is way closer to the twin cities then Madison...which sucks but that is the way it happens when event folks don't check with each other before setting dates for events.

Hey Madtown, I'm just over in Richland Center... wish I would've seen this posting earlier... like Monday, we were working on dj's yesterday with a skidsteer. Could've been over helping you. First off... are there any nights you are going to be out there working on anything? Maybe we could get down there with a few extra hands and help. I'm usually at the shop till 6, but might be able to get my lovely girlfriend to close up for me... or we'll just close early dang it. Let me know.

Remind yourself that you were asked if you would like to be the race director and FULLY accepted it. Nothing was just handed to you, except for a full race already in the works! All the peices were in place, all you needed to do was build the roll-in and pick up the timer. Crash was to get the trailer. Everything else was completed by someone else so you could step in and look like a hero! :nono:

my family and one other are planing on coming down.
we are camping for the weekend and i am wondering if i should bring the bikes for the kids or if they can walk from the camp site. where is the race course in comparison to the campgrounds (we are in one of the first five or so campsites)
i hope this race goes on. i wouldn't worry too much about a start ramp unless you feel it is necessary to get some speed due to terrain, there are races that do not use them.
if you are going to cancel the race i would do it soon so the word gets around and you don't have a bunch of riders showing up for nothing. just out of courtesy and to save some gas money for them.

The Race Is On

its on, the corse is sick. the camp sites are on the left side of the park aka South Park. the race starts at the top of the hill by the West tower. the shuttle will pick ppl up buy the pool, the registration is all so by the pool just ask at the ranger station for a map. if you guy's need anymore info, feel free to call my Cell: 608-206-3368

yes you could race on a HT. but you would not have fun, sorry.

keep in mind that this is on DNR land, In a State Park, leting us race is a gift. If it was up to me i would say it would be ok to ride it on friday but im not going to be there till 5, and if some one gets hurt the day before the race that would not look good.
