A small group of Jews, Atheists, and lonely divorcees enjoyed Xmas morning at Whypass with a fresh blanket of snow today!

Just enough snow to make things fun, but still pretty good riding conditions. Some blowdown will need to be cleaned up after the snow melts, but Whypass should be in great shape by ACM5.:D

You know, sometimes I actually miss rides like that. I see all my cold weather riding gear at the bottom of the drawer, lonely and unused... kinda sad, really.

For my ride yesterday I regretted not bringing along a set of arm warmers- I coulda used 'em.

If all goes well I may be able to attend the ACM and see this Whypass that everyone says is so much better than Shotgun ever was!

Bring your armwarmers, dude.

We've got ~18-20 miles of ST out there. And if the weather looks like it'll be somewhat cooperative, there will likely be a keg plus post-ride bonfire & grub. Last year we had chili dogs.

We misses ya, Miles. Get here.

The 24th, right? I'll see what I can do. I really have been away too long.

Yes, January 24th. Just in case you arrive early, know that we'll be doing a night ride out there on Wednesday the 21st. Hope you'll join us for a preview in the dark. That way you won't spoil the fun of "discovering" the place in the light of day on the 24th.

Huh?? How are there only a couple inches on the ground down there? We still have several times that up here in Portland.

The Portland media is very provincial. Nothing exists south of Wilsonville.

The south Willamette Valley (south of Salem) got several days of snow a week ago, then it warmed up. When PDX was snowed in and 15 degrees this week Eugene was 45 degrees with a bit of rain. It was 32+ degrees on Willamette and Santiam Passes (but 6 degrees in Sisters).

There has been no snow on the Valley floor for a week. WhyPass 400-900' higher and has gotten snow.
