To measure sag or travel used. Slide it to the bottom and measure how much it gets pushed up.
? Extrapolated from amount of travel used? Not just the sag. The compression damping setting also.
Soooo...no one knows. No one answered the question......(I'd expect everyone knows what an O-ring on a Fork is for).
I'd hazard a guess that the O-ring is on the left side to coincide with air cartridge side (most cases) .
Also maybe because most people are right-handed (I'm not) it allows for easier adjustment during riding?
Were you traveling when performing the test or just riding local trails? Could make a difference. More testing needed. Some say its to measure travel used when riding. But it never worked for me. When I finish a ride and look at the o-ring, it never tells me how much I've traveled on that ride. I know I rode 9 miles, but the o-ring only moved up 3". Am I supposed to do some fancy maths to figure out how much I traveled? 3x3=9?
I'll be traveling this weekend with my bike. I'll report back what the o-ring tells me.Were you traveling when performing the test or just riding local trails? Could make a difference. More testing needed.
