I'm a new convert - the guy who just bought a Turner on ebay thanks to some helpful advice here. After getting my Blur XC, I'd peek at the Santa Cruz forum now and again. I notice though that on any given day, there are close to 150 people viewing here. Santa Cruz usually has about half that and other manufacturers have even less. There are three possible theories on this as far as I can tell:

1. There are a hell of a lot of more Turner owners out there than other owners (not true)

2. Turner owners are more passionate about their bikes (possibly)

3. You guys have formed a little community/subculture that is somehow stickier than the other groups due to mix of personalities or some other factor(s).

I'm sure you're all aware that the tent is bigger over here - what's your best guess as to why?

There is no community and nobody here REALLY likes their bikes and wants to discuss them. To be either would be just so UNhumble!

We are all just humble bike owners who are wannabes.

Where is my 1" Huffy????...gots me some trail ridin' to do!

i see it this way. its either the turner forum or net porn.

what the hell am i doin here?

seriously. sc sales outnumber turner sales by a stunning percentage according to the numbers ive been given. i think this is just a very passionate bunch with a wealth of real world knowlage and the interest to share it. the personalities are indeed a draw for me. ive had the chance to meet many here so far and those experiences have been great. ya covered all the really good points that i only confirmed without addin anything new. in the end, i just feel lucky to have found this joint.

7. Turner owners ask questions that would really belong in some other forums. Some other's spot the questions when looking for "New Posts".

"You're not your bike. You're not how much travel you have in the rear. You're not the gears you shift. You're not the brand of your frame. You're not your ****ing forks. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world."

But to quote a fitting line from Fight Club to this forum, I have to go with this: The things you own end up owning you.
