I use an 80 mm rise Diety bar on my bike because I have long legs and am older than most of you on this forum. The bars are 3/4 inch above the saddle. I compensate for the lack of forward lean by moving the saddle forward about an inch so that I can keep the front wheel down on steep uphills.

Descending off the saddle or rolling drops with the riser bar is way better because I can move farther towards the back of the bike because my hands are closer to my shoulders in the attack position.

This is a good setup for everything but going fast on level ground. With the new long and low bike geometry in vogue I'm pretty sure that people with more normal body geometry will discover that they like a bit more rise in their handlebars.
