hmmm. many of my local, close to home trails, i can climb as fast on my SS as i can on my gearie. sometimes faster.

and when i'm doing it on the SS, i seem to pass an awful lot of people. and i'm riding the bike while doing so.

actually, that's true of a lot of trails i've been on with my SS; even when it's a trail not at home, or an unfamiliar one.

maybe you're just jealous? or weak?

I've decided gears are overrated

I hadn't been on any trail for 7 months due to a knee problem and today I finally got back on the dirt. Rode a local trail with a buddy of mine and for grins chose not to shift at all. Granted it's not the toughest trail in the world, but...

My new singulator, SS chainring, cog, and spacers should be in by the end of the week. I'm sold. That's it. Done. (=

Great call! I was thinking the same thing. Sure we SS'ers are able to pass lots of people on the climbs, but there are still a few gearies that are able to pass most all of us too.
