By myself I own three (1991 Trek 7000, 2001 Trek 8000, 2002 Trek Fuel 100). But, I also bought my wife a 2002 Trek 4900 and a 2007 Trek EX7. And, I bought my daughter a trek and one for my son and also got a Trek tag-a-long.

So, I'm up to 3 for myself, and 8 for the family.

I can do an over the years thing for me and wife. Y33,9900,9800,2000,2300,5500, 5900 Superlight,Madone,Top Fuel 110.
Mainly because of great customer service and lifetime warranty over the years. I would have bought more mountain bikes cause OCLV has always been ahead of everything else in carbon fiber alas till abp the dual suspension designs for longer travel bike above 100mm have not been that competitive.
Still ride the OCLV hard tail 9800 ('96 frame at 3 pounds) and Top Fuel and Madone SL is still my road bike.
