I was wrapping up my "Workout Loop" on lower Lost Dog, before heading up and over Ringtail, just before 8 pm last night and saw an HID up on Sunrise. Looked to be on the switchbacks, or the first saddle. Was that...YOU?

Beauteous night for a ride, with a waxing moon luminescent behind scattered clouds, and damp, tacky conditions on the trails. Interesting in that the dry rocks on the trail would pick up my HID beam and look like the line, when in fact, the line might have been on either side, in the damp sand/dirt. And this on trails I know extremely well...

The SS felt great after all the long Quad Bypass on the RIP. That long ride definitely raised the bar. Note to self: Do more really long rides to prepare for really long rides...

I love riding at night.

I need to update/redo the tunes on my iPod - I haven't changed them in over six months, but it's a pain to remember what I want to add...I just forget. Note to self: Carry a pad of paper to write down iPod-worthy songs when I hear them or think of them.

I'm actually going to miss this cold/cool weather - it will seem a distant memory in a few months when you look at your layering stuff...

Should I get a new helmet...?

I can't wait for the Super Bowl. I hope Peyton Manning gets a ring.

Should I go out tonight? Or Saturday?

I wonder what yetisurly is doing right now? And Dirdir?

Google "Miss Nevada"...

after seeing Gordon's picture...

I wish I could take cool, or even just good, pictures at night and in less-than-perfect lighting...

Buy a mini tripod to carry in your camelback, it's hard to get good night shots without one. Practice in the back yard and try changing your camera settings for a longer exposure until you get the result you were looking for.

That was a super brught moon last night. I hiked the dog at SoMo and didnt need to use my headlamp. Great night!
A small group rode from my house to the helipad and back last night sans lights. It was incredible!!! Rippin thru the desert following the ribbon of trail illuminated by moonlight is a special thing.

Red Stars... all over the place...

I don't know. I just don't understand why people get so upset about our beauty queens going out and being, well, queens.

I checked out the former Miss Nevada and all I saw was red stars. She seems to be a very 'interactive' person with great 'communication' skills.

She likely got the most votes for Miss Congeniality. I can see how the other contestants could appreciate her willing nature.

Lights on Sunrise, huh? Isn't that supposed to be closed during hours of darkness? I wonder how someone might actually be able to ride there during hours of closure. I bet it was a rescue patrol out looking for a lost hiker, yeh, that's it I'm sure. And Walt was out trying to locate the lost rescue patrol.

Now it all makes sense..

Nice night photography too...

Damn, did I mention Sunrise?
