$5000 bike and worried about a few Pennie’s?
I can barely afford to keep my two bikes in fresh tires and brake pads. I’ve never spent even close to 5k on a bike— though I’ll likely be forced to on the next one.

Old sealant works fine as long as it’s still liquid.

My fat tires need at least 4oz or it doesn’t even pool to seal a thorn, so I end up with a decent amount of sealant when it comes time to change the tire out. I save and re-use it. I also figured out how to mount tubeless fat tires easy with a floor pump, so it’s all not a big deal to switch. I make my own sealant. Sometimes I’ll refresh the old with a little more PG and water to keep it liquid.

I just set up a new set of wheels and tires last weekend and used my syringe to suck out the Orange Seal out of the old tires and transfer it to the new tires. To me it doesn't make sense to let it sit in the old wheels or just throw it out.

Count me in as a re-user of sealant.

Keeps me from having to buy more, and from dealing with disposal, or cleanup.

I just add enough new sealant to make things work. Sometimes that’s an ounce. Sometimes that’s 3oz.

Good to see i'm not the only cheap arse... ahem, I mean environmentally friendly person on here.

An yes $5k on a bike and skimp $$ on re-using goo. I'll be honest. I have an old man rage at bloody goo pricing. Its freaken expensive. More so when you have a family with goo'd up bikes.

Equally about being cheap as it is about not wanting to waste it or have it end up on/in the ground.
Guilty. I won’t suck out .5oz, but if there is a decent amount, yep take it to next tire.
