I'll be in Hilton Head in September and I haven't found any decent trails listed on the island. Is Whitemarsh worth the hour drive from Hilton Head? All beginner or is there any intermediate thrown in?

We bring our hybrids for riding on the island's paved trails and rent cheap cruisers for patrolling the beach. I was hoping to get in a little mountain biking but I guess it will have to wait until we return home.

Yeah, that is the best option. Hilton head is great but there is almost zero MTBing in the area. Myrtle beach actually has a nice little trail system (HULK) that is fun. But Myrtle is no Hilton head!

Myrtle Beach is a long way up 17 from HH as well. At least 2 hours.

Yeah, I was more making a comment on "beach" destinations. HH is viewed as the more upscale place while MB is viewed with a little disdain.

MB is also probably closer to 4 hours from HH. It is close to 2 hours from Charleston. I like the place but would not drive 2 hours to it, let alone 4!
