White Tanks night ride?

Hi there
The county park trails usually close at sunset, reopening at sunrise. Be careful out there at dusk, lots of rattlers out in that area.

Maricopa parks close at 8pm. If by chance you are still on the trail after 8pm, by the time you get to your car the ranger will be there honking and waiting on you (This I know from a past White Tanks experience). I've discovered that the best time to arrive and roll out to take advantage of the shade is about 6:30pm. This gives you about an hour and a half of riding in the shade.

Right on, I saw that they actually close the gate at 10pm on Friday and Saturday.

Hey Rita, I'll put a baseball card in the spokes the scare off the rattlers...

Man it was nice out there Friday evening...It was the first time I've been out there since it's warmed up. I was the only one one the track and shaded riding, it was really nice. Rita got me paranoid about the rattlers though. I came up on root and thought "rut row rorg!"...I know it's a long haul, but the shade sure is nice....

Yeah riding in the shade out there is great. Too bad the mountains aren't taller that would allow for a longer ride. :thumbsup:

Think we could get the county to add on? Put our $5 to good use...

If "adding on" means bulldozing about a mile of doubletrack into a smooth fire road, I'm sure they can use that five dollars to do lots.

Seriously, I think they should expand their bike friendly multi-use trails. I could see a night ride being held out there if they would just add some length.
