Whistler and mtn biking: Any XC riding stuff?

Is there much XC type riding at Whistler, or is it mostly geared for downhill and freeride (neither of which my bike will handle.) I just don't want to waste a trip if there's not much XC type stuff. Thanks!

From what i hear, there are extensive miles of some of the best single track in the world. Im going to make my pilgrimage in late august. Bringing my elite 9.8. Ill end up renting a nice rocky mountian, or intense while im there probily. Im all about the climb.
I've also heard there is tons and tons of some of the best singletrack around.
Yup some very good XC trails, not on the mountain...so no real need to buy a liftpass.
As the others have said, there is many KM of XC riding to do both in Whistler, Squamish & Pemberton.

A couple of links to trail organizations in Whistler & Squamish. (I'm not sure if Pemberton has a trail organization, anyone?)

Whistler has plenty of xc options such as Comfortably Numb, Riverside, Flank Trail, Trash, Lost Lake, Emerald Forest, Rebob. Find a bike shop once you get to town and let them know what kind of trail you're looking for. I'd offer to show you around, but...well...I'm not really into climbing.

As for Pemberton, their trail organization is PORCA, but I don't know if they have a web site.
