I am upgrading my 2016 Mojo3 from an M8000 11-speed 2x setup to an M8100 12-speed 1x.

I see there are 2 crank options, FC-M8120-1 or M8100-1. I am trying to figure out the best choice. I see Ibis specs the M8100, but I question the accuracy of the website to rely on it. Suggestions?

FC-M8120-1

- 178mm Q-Factor

- 55mm chain line works with 148 O.L.D.

- Prioritizes frame and tire clearance

FC-M8100-1

- 172mm Q-Factor

- 52mm chain line works with 142 or 148 O.L.D.

- Prioritizes narrowest possible Q factor

My Mojo has a Turbine 1x crankset. I'm pretty sure the chainline is 50mm. The upshot of a 50mm chainline is the largest chainring I can run is 32 tooth otherwise the teeth get too close to the chainstay. I think others have managed to fit a 34 tooth but the clearance is millimetres. However, as I spend a lot of time in low gears, the smaller chainline works better for me and I have no intention of fitting a larger chainring. Hope that helps.

I would choose the cranks that give you a 52 mm chain line every day of the week.
