Candy blue medium Sultan is enroute. For a quiver killer type bike, which fork would you guys tend towards? I am running the fox rlc fit on the jet9. The Sultan is going to see a little more substantial use on drops and what not. I am on the fence between the Marz 44ti, the Reba rlt ti 120 maxle and the F120 rlc fit with qr15. Currently 230lbs, but I have dropped 25lbs in the last two months back on the bike and I am expecting to come in around 170lbs once in shape.
Thanks!
Isaac

Im 6'4" and your weight now, maybe +10. If I was 170lbs I would be a fragile shivering stick man....Im shooting for 210lbs.

Have you considered the White Brothers Fluid 29er?. Im more of a set it and forget it type and really happy with it so far.

I too have been looking for a fork for the Sultan - really a coil fan by far. The Marzocchi looks as if it needs work right out of the box to correct small bump compliance issues. I have read posts where the WB Fluid may require a booster spring or a mod'd fox spring to acheive the correct spring rate. The Reba 120 seems the most popular though some would favor a 140mm but only comes tapered. I may choose a Reba and install a U-turn coil or ???

So, what needs to be done to the 44ti out of the box to make it work properly? Small bump handling is one of my biggest wants in a fork.

I really like the Reba 120 mm w 20 mm maxle on my DW Sultan...however , I hope the future Sultans will sport a HT that will accept a tapered steerer to have the ability to use the new Reba 140 mm ! :) TIG.

I don't see why fork manufactures couldn't just offer 1 1/8" versions as well.

How bout a modded Fox 36 Talas? I get 144mm of the sweetest travel. Fork is stiff and prefect for a Turner, in my opinion. I was about 225 when purchased and modded, but am now under 200. Ihave XC ans SS biukes and built this speciifically to go over more extrme trails, features, and jumps.

- yeah Iknow I need to cut the steer tube, just making sure I have it where I want it befoer I cut:)

Really want to try one of those. Get any rub from the 2.4 Ardent? How much does it cost? Did you do the mod yourself?

I really considered that mod when building my bike but in the end decided spending that much then hacking the bridge and no warranty / clearance wasn't the direction I wanted t go.

Every time I see it I still wonder how much stiffer it would ride be compared to the WB 135..

I just got back from a ride on my Jet9 that has a F100 RLC fit on the front of it. I really hate that fork. I am hoping the Marz 44ti will work better across the board than the Fox product.
