I'd go for Trip8, cuz when I had my bighit comp, I replaced my fork before upgrading the rear and i think overall it was more worth the upgrade because its nice to go to a nicer overall shock up front with better damping and more travel than going to just slightly longer travel in the rear with compression damping.

Should I wait for the 2005 888's to come out so I can get the 2004s for cheaper or should I get a http://www.specialized.com/SBCEqProduct.jsp?minisite=10080&spid=5065 for my 2003 Big Hit? Thanks for your help.
(spam) buy my 2004 888r for 800bux then buy the go-ride or risse crowns (/spam)

The changes for the 04 to 05 888's are the crown and the low speed adapater(which you can get now)

So theres no reason why to wait ta get one.

http://www.avalanchedownhillracing.com/stapleton.html I think you should get that, with an Avy, then save up for the 888. How much DH racing are you doing...or you could always just buy the HSCV or whatever for the Jr.t
That looks pretty sick. I ride the bike on only liftserviced terrain, but I plan on doing my first race in September. Does the Avalance include the shock too or just the shock mount atachment? Thanks for your help.

Thats just the linkage, they tell you what shock you need to order, and who to contact. The total would probably still be less than a 888.
