My new (to me) YBB currently has a "department store grade" seatpost in it since that's the only spare 27.2 I had around the house. Obviously that's not acceptable, but I'm not thinking I want to spend $100+ for a Moots seatpost either. Looking at my options, I end up having more questions than I thought I would....

1) I see some posts indicated as "road" or "mtn" seatposts. Is there actually any difference?

2) What material should I get? Obviously Ti is okay but what about carbon or AL?

3) How do I determine how long of a post I need? Is there some general guide for how much post needs to be down in the tube?

Feel free to make any specific suggestions too.

Thanks...
