I just got a new rush 3000 and have a couple options as far as the seat post goes. The bike will either come with a Thompson Elite (unfortunately not the Masterpiece) or a USE Alien carbon post. The weight difference is about 85 grams but I have never been a big weight weenie. I guess my question is whether to go with a carbon or metal seat post and what the pluses/minuses are with each setup. I have heard that the USE occasionally have some problems with the seat clamp.

I am SURE it is not an issue.

Has anone ever seen a thread about failing Thompson posts? (straight or setback?)I have not.
Good, just wanted to make sure. I agree that when a Thomson fails it will likely be when the entire world collapses in on itself. :D
