Hi,
I'm planning a little forward and got stuck at rims. I narrowed my options down to Spank Oozy Evo 27.5 and DT Swiss XM401. Whick one would be better choice at €65?
I may not run them tubeless in the beginning, but the conversion will happen . They say it's easy to setup Spank rims tubeless, but I can't really imagine how could I make the rim tape fit smoothly on the wave form inside..
And there's the valve problem. Not really a problem, but I don't know if I need spank branded tubeless valve stems or a normal valve cut from a tube would be enough. (just because of fit and good sealing) Same goes for the DT rim.

Another vote for Spank of those choices, any tubeless valve should work, i.e. you don't need to match brands with the rim; they're pretty generic by design. I use DT valves (because I already had them spare and I'm a cheapskate) on WTB rims just fine.

No need to conform them perfectly. Just use a tube and a small tire, inflate to 30/40psi for a night.
The tape will be perfectly glued, maybe some bubbles but nobody cares.
