It's been over a decade since I've performed a complete frame swap. So this may be a dumb question at this point:
I bought a new GT Sensor frame and it came with two completely different hangers. One of these (the longer one?) is for the newer Shimano Shadow stuff, correct?

I'm moving over an XT M786 Shadow 10-speed derailleur from my old bike and just want to make sure I'm using the right one.

Thanks in advance!

You could use either one.

With the hanger on the left, you would need to remove the b-link (bracket axle unit) from the derailleur before you attach it.

With the hanger on the right, you would need to keep the b-link (bracket axle unit) on the derailleur to attach it.

For other conventional mount derailleurs, you would only use the hanger on the right.

Hey Cobba! lol. I had to read your response a couple of times. I kept thinking about the "b screw" ("what? you remove the B-screw?").
I see what you're referring to now that I look at the actual derailleur. Curious if there is any reason to mount it one way or the other? Is there an advantage to loosing the b-link?
