I'm looking to replace the pedals on my XC bike. My old pedals ( which are worn out) are Shimano 520's. I'm considering the Shimano 959's, Time Atac XC Carbon, Crank Bros. Candy SL and the Eggbeater SL. Which, in your opinion, is the better buy. Please note that easy clip-in and clip-out is a most. Durability is also a key factor. Thanks !

Best buy by far Eggbeater chrome, on sale all the time for $50 and as low as $40 w/ those nashbar/performance 20% off coupons. Best in the mud and extra fine sand, eggbeaters and Atacs. The easiest to get in and out of are the 959, they have a narrower float and adjustable tension.

The best thing to do is test the pedals out. When i first got Atacs 8 years ago i knew they were not for everyone and whenever any of my friends said they were going to get a set I'd let them try mine out first, I ended up being the only rider using them. The Eggbeaters faired better but with half of the people who opted the eggbeater route going to the candys, they wanted more platform.
