im looking at buying another bike...the 2 im looking at are the Trek Fuel 80 and the giant anthem 3...both priced about the same...although i can actually get the fuel for about 300$ cheaper then the anthem....just wondering if people have these bikes..or what they have to say about them...please help

I think the Anthem has a better more efficient rear suspension design. I thinkt he Trek is a little lighter out of the box and is usually cheaper. My vote would be for the Anthem.

Trek Lifetime warranty

Something to think about.

I broke my Gary Fisher frame (after four seasons) and just got the new one. GF also had lifetime warranty on the frame; it's the same company now.

With giant I believe it's one year.

I've broken two frames (the other was a GT), so it happens more often than you think.

LIFETIME warranty on GIANTs thanks you very much One of the reasons I shyed away from the Fuel when I was going to get my new bike was reading a lot of frame failure from owners near the seattube weld. The Anthem is a much newer and more efficient suspension design. Consider saving some more and going for the Anthem2, much better specs dollar for dollar over the 3 and you shouldn't want to upgrade anything in the very near future - even so I'd definitely go for the Anthem over the Fuel any day.

Oops!! You're right. It's one year on paint, components, etc.

Giant Bicycle, Inc. ("Giant") warrants the frame and rigid fork of each new Giant brand bicycle and Giant brand frameset to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the bicycle. Paint finish and all other original components, and all Giant brand repair parts, replacement parts, and accessories, are warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one year from the original date of purchase. This warranty applies only to bicycles and framesets purchased new from, and assembled by, an Authorized Giant Dealer.

I think my next new bike will be a giant. Not too many companies give lifetime warranties on FS frames.

I'm suprised Trek can compete with Giant on price since Giant is Tawaineese owned. Trek probably gets more sales volume.
