I am about to buy all my new bling for my Tracer 2 :)

I will put the new SRAM X9 10-speed on it. I am a bit confused regarding the new direct mount front deraillerurs - does the Tracer need the one with low or the high mount?

I have bought wheels with Hope Pro 2 hubs and the rear is convertible for 142x12. Anyone know which axle (Syntace or Shimano or another) I can use with the Hope Pro 2 hub?

Intense has written about the different axle solutions:

Has anyone seen prices for the G1 dropout?

I will use a crank with 29-36 chainrings - any recommendations for the cassette - 11-32 or 11-36?

Not answering your question but I would not go the X9 route. Rode a X9 equipped bike and it all felt very flimsy/cheap. Now X0 on the other hand feels Solid and crisp. I am planning on getting the Tracer 2 as well and it will be X0 or XT.

Hmm I will only be riding the Tracer 2 on trips to the Alps and Sweden and perhaps in total use it one month a year and therefore would save some money going X9. I was originally going to put my old 970 XTR from my XC bike which will receive the full X0 treatment and then I would sell the 970 :)

I presume you would recommend the XTR instead of the X9 then?

Make sure you can climb a 29T chainring. Personally I don't think I am strong enough to push a 29x36 for a couple of hours, what is required in the Alps.
As for component groups: BIKE has a comparison in their recent issue and they also didn't like the X.9. Why not build it with an old style 9 speed SLX group that can be had for cheap?

My guess would be that X9 is not holding up with XT. That is what I believe we should compare X9 with? Don't know how X9 compares price wise with XT? Maybe it is quite a bit cheaper.

I second iRider that for the Alps you should think about that 29T front ring. I am sure I would not be able to push that 2000m plus. I am in the Alps and 22x34 is basically what I am in most of the time.

i of course meant 2x10 X-0 drivetrain. from the pics and cable routing, it looks to be a direct mount, top pull. but I can't tell if it's S1 or S3 spec. SRAM makes like 28 diff X-0 FD's!
What is S1 or S3? I am about to but the XT front derailleur but am also a bit confused about whether there are different direct mount solutions :)
