Thanks in advance for any input:

I bent the MX Comp Air(105mm) on my 05 Rocky Mountain Hammer last night (pulled into my garage with the bike on top ... always wondered what would happen when I ultimately did that :) ). Anyway, I now need to replace the fork. I'm wondering if this is an opportunity to upgrade to something a little lighter or should I just go back with the MX Comps. I like the Marzocchis but was wondering if there's something comparable that it is a little lighter. I am 6'5 and weigh ~200 l; the bike is 22.5". I ride mostly single track and usually NOT extremely technical.

I noticed that performance has Manitou Manitou R7 Elite SE 100mm on sale now for $299. Thats about the price I'm looking to pay .... would that be a good choice ?

Thanks again for the input

Couple others to look at, all sub 4lb:

Marathon XC or SL
Reba (32mm stanchions so would be nice and stiff)
Fox Vanilla or Float (might find some in the $300 range)
