Which 3/32" chain?

696 Views 9 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  2farfwd
I got my One9 and some of my parts, which include a White Ind. Double/Double setup. Their info says use a 3/32" chain, which eliminates most single speed chains(which are 1/8", right?.) Anyone have a recommendation for a good chain for a clyde?

Thanks,

Dan

3/32"

I think most people actually use 3/32". Someone once explained it to me like this; all the R&D money is being spent on the 3/32" chains. They are just as strong as the 1/8". I'm 200 lbs and never had a problem with the Sram PC 58.

I called WI before buying my ENO crank to confirm that it was for a 3/32 chain. As for a chain itself, the PC48 works just fine. Not shifting anyways.
KMC Z610HX is a 3/32" chain. Works like charm with ENO.

CHAIN

Cheap, strong...
Most people run 3/32". That's what most chainrings are. Cogs are mostly 3/32" and freewheels can generally be had either way. My personal fav for a chain is the Wipperman Connix in stainless steel. Very low maintenance - no rust goodness. They also make a nickel version for a little less $.
nogearshere is right. That is the best chain for SSpeeding. Use the search, we covered this topic a month or two ago.
I second the Wipperman.
Thanks for the input everyone!. I think I'll give KMC a shot.

agree 100%. i am a huge fan of the KMC Z610HX chain. I run it on my One 9 and Phil Wood, both running ENO cranks. It is just the perfect chain in my opinion.
I'm a clyde

I'm 250lbs right now and I use the Sram PC48 and PC58 without problems. Cheap and strong.
