I'm after doing a 14 day tour of New Zealand in May- I know the weather won't be ideal, but I've had worse back home in the UK I bet...

I'd like to take in Rotorua, and see some cool country side and I suppose some of the more interesting towns. ALso, somewhere to do some White Water rafting.

I'll have some lightweight panniers and be riding a singlespeed but should be pretty fit by then.

Are there any good routes or maps on the web, or can anyone reccomend something?

Also, where can I fly in to with the bike from Sydney?

Cheers.

14 days isn't too long a time to see much, Rotorua is a good gig for trails and whatnot. Good timing for WWR too, winter coming on and dumping a bit of rain. the water will be cold and the rivers will kick your ass. Great fun.

See vorb.org.nz for biking info.

You could fly in to Dunedin, Christchurch or Nelson if your heading to the South Island.
Riding the west coast of the south island is nice, a lot of nice scenery and small towns. some nasty hills though...
