I will be staying at Primm Valley Casino Resort from Mar 28-April 3 on a dirt bike holiday and I am thinking of taking a couple of days mountain biking as the transport truck with our bikes should have some room. F***ing cold in Toronto these days and I am getting withdrawal early.
Any advice on some good spots within a reasonable distance?
Thanks,

Or Cottonwood. There isn't much out near Primm except sandy dirt roads used for off-road racing. You could drive up towards Las Vegas and get off the freeway at Jean and drive west to Sandy Valley. If you go as far north as possible in Sandy Valley -- you're only a few miles from Cottonwood Valley Trails. You can park there and ride up the hill and into the trail system (and save yourself 25 miles of driving).

On this map on the link above -- you'd only be about three miles below to black loop trail at the bottom of the map. Ride up the dirt road and then have fun on the trails. Granted those trails at the far south edge of Cottonwood see very little use and it would be better to get into the regular trail system. I wouldn't recommend doing Bonnie and Clyde (unless you're into adventure riding) since it's pretty rough and washed out for a lot of it. But you could ride up and do the Dead Horse Loop (Red Valley included).

The others have posted the best places near you... but they are both 30-40 minutes away. Both great options.... but unless you get tired of the motos and just need something different......

Leave the bike at home and just ride the dirt bike. The possibilities are endless. Are you the guys from ktmtalk.com I communicated with a couple years ago about riding up to Ely?

Thanks

Great suggestions guys, I will be sure to try them both hopefully.

KRob, I am new to the group, but they have been doing this for years, so it could have been one of them that you were in touch with. Any tips on riding in the desert. Gear, technique, tires or anything else.
Thanks
