Shamrock 1079 I'm not sure what you mean by freeride. If you mean the stuff that is in Bike magazine I think you are out of luck in Wisconsin. There is not much in this state for big jumps, log rides, teeter-totters, and the like. We do have more than our share of great single track.
The two closest spots to Green Bay that I know of to get some great trail riding are Nine Mile in Wausau and some trail near a small town called Langlade.
Over by the Langlade trail it appeared they were building some stunts on the north side of Highway 64. It looked like they were laying out a nice drop off on some rock. They did have a ride over a large rock when I was there. I saw this stuff in June of 2008 but I have not been back there since. I can't say how much progress has been made.
Also a tornado went the area before I rode the trails last June. I didn't get too far south toward Boulder Lake. The area may have been cleared out by now but I don't know that for sure.
For the very best in riding head up to Hayward-Cable and the CAMBA trails.
Shamrock 1079 lighten up on your wife and in-laws. I'm sure your in-laws are good people as folks up here in the midwest tend to be. I'll bet they'd give you the shirt off of their back for you. Use the visit to Wisconsin Dells as a rest day. The Dells are pretty cool. The scenery is fabulous and there is the famous Ducks, water parks, mini-golf, and good bars downtown. The outlet mall down in Lake Delton has great deals on clothing. For supper try Famous Dave's or Paul Bunyons. The Paul Bunyon meal is served all you can eat family style and they put the food on your table instead of having to march through a buffet.
