Where to get O-rings?

1086 Views 10 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Alpamayo
I need to replace the 1.0x17 o-ring around the DUC damper adjust knob (that sits in the travel adjust knob).

I called around to a couple of local Austin, TX places that specialize in o-rings and seals and neither had that size.

Also emailed Ethan, but hadn't heard back yet.

Suggestions? Thanks!

I purchase everything through Banks. Always get my parts superquick!
McMaster-Carr is usually a good source for odd hardware bits like that
Not necessary

To be honest, I don't believe that particular o-ring is necessary. It's nice to have, but not critical.
"Banks"?

Hey Datalogger, I should probably know this seeing as I've been riding a Duc for 4 years now, but who's "Banks"? I see him in here all the time, but what's his association with Maverick? Is he a tuner, supplier, or Mav employee? How does one connect with him to get parts?
My opinion:
Banks is short for Scot Banks @ Absolute Bikes in Salida Colorado, He Dah MAN (I bow low to ground in humility) "Oh master please pass some Maverick knowledge unto this humble Grasshopper" I say, . And he does!!
Scot knows his stuff and is ultra passionate about Mavericks, He has tons of experience and knowledge and parts too!! Great guy I got to meet him last year and we talked Maverick and Klein Palomino (what I had at the time), he is a great, friendly guy! Killer racer too! I would have bought a bike from him but they are toooo far away from where I live in Southern New Mexico.

PS Tell him I sent you! (719) 539-9295 http://www.absolutebikes.com/
Who? Me? oh, this guy

Yeah.
I have been beating the sh!t out of Maverick parts since 2002 and have not stopped. I have been selling & tuning/repairing Mavericks since 2002, stocking a bit of small parts, shipping all over the world.

IIRC the oring you need are the same as the rear upper shock mount and i have them in stock.

Cheers!

Hope to see you soon Scot
Freddie your fav "Slow Old Maverick Guy"
A matter of cost (worth?)...

Thanks all. Was thinking of trying my old pair of rings from the shock body set screws, just hadn't gotten there yet.

Banks, how much?
