I have a DHX on an '05 Stinky Deelux and am in desperate need of a heavier spring. It seems that no one makes anything heavier than a 650lb and I would need at least an 800lb. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have a rather large friend who rides a 2" stroke 900 lb spring that his LBS ordered from Fox. Have you tried this route?

Here is what I have found out so far. The springs for the DHX have a slightly larger inside diameter than a standard Fox spring, but not as big as a Romic. The heaviest spring Fox makes for the DHX is a 700lb. According to a few of the spring rate calculators I have used, I need around a 800lb spring. The other thing I am finding out is that an 8.5" eye to eye 2.5" stroke shock is not that common. I have not checked Stratos yet, but they will go on the list with Avalanche. Thanks for the input.

Check this out!! On the DH-FR thread, Cowan DS or Howler for downhill/freeride.
Actually they do more than just adjust for pedalling efficiency. I had a DHX on a transition dirt bag, and due to the falling rate of the suspension, i was having really bad bottom out issues with the bike. Even with a 800lb spring, full pressure in the boost, and the volume adjusted all the way in.
