Would like to get some pads and a 185mm wavy rotor for my Avid Mech front brake but am having a hard time finding them online. Any ideas where I can find them?

Called my LBS and although they can order the stuff for me, they seemed like they would be doing me a huge favor. I even went ahead and got the BTI product numbers for them.

I sent Larry an email. Maybe it wouldn't be too much touble for him.

i got my 185/160mm galfers rotors from larry at mtnhigh. price was good, got them quick and the rotors themselves have been great.

i am using the newer avid "b4" pads. i was going to buy the galfer pads from larry as well, but i already has two pairs of the avid pads.

the brake system is great...awesome power, quiet and the rotors are way freakin' high quality...GET 'EM!!!.

A note on Info I received from Galfer:

When you switch pad compounds you will get the best results if you completely clean the rotors with 600 grit emory paper and lots of water. Then gently bed in the new pads to deposit a layer of the new pad material on/in the rotors.

I tried it and it does make a positive difference.

I'm looking forward to the bigger rotors and better modulating pads. I've been riding fixed lately and my knees could use a little help with the steep SoCal descents I've been putting them through every day.
